Sargent House

 

 The Sargent House is located at 154 Central Avenue. It was built there and has never been moved. It was designed by the architect William H. Weeks. It is a Modified Colonial Style built in 1896 by contractor L.U. Grant at a cost of $7,500. It was constructed for Bradley V. Sargent, District Attorney for Monterey County. Sargent was the first California attorney to introduce the photograph as evidence in a court case. The property is listed in the National Register and is in the John Steinbeck historic district.
